All committees have commenced their contact and discussions will commence within the week. The strategic plan for the next 18 months will be put to the Australian Sports Commission on February 17 and this will be inclusive of the current outstanding strategic directional matters combined with the Game Development Plan for the development area and the actions required to introduce and implement the management audit unitary model. A new schedule for sub committees has been completed, this document is a basic macro overview of the expected timelines required to successfully implement change by July 1 2005. Communication with State Government funding agencies has commenced especially aimed at the funding of activities within State Boundaries by a National Organisation as distinct to an Incorporated State Body. The ATA Legal Advisor has supplied a detailed information sheet on the winding up procedures needed for each State and Territory, ACT sample given at the end of this document. The ATA is in the process of appointing a new CEO (due to the retirement from the position of the current CEO) and once that is in place the employment of a senior member to the ATA (either a Member Services Manger of a Chief Financial Officer) will be undertaken. This is supporting the new ATA Office Structure as recommended in the Shilbury Report WHAT CAN YOU DO? As this is a critical time for the committees it is imperative that the chair of each committee is contactable. With that in mind I encourage any Touch participant to make contact and pass on their thoughts and ideas to these committees. One major change to the relationships between States, Regions and local associations is that of membership. Under the new constitution the ATA members (Legal Owners) will be the Local Touch Associations which is a major organisational change. The local player now has a critical role in the direction of the sport. This will give local associations a direct communication pathway to the national organisation. In saying this it has been recognised that local associations should contribute to these formative steps, after all the new members should be involved at this level as the outcomes will be inclusive of their ideas .We need your assistance especially with the sub committees work over the next 6 weeks. The Human Resource Committee needs a wider consultation base therefore we are looking for a couple more committee members preferably with experience in this area. For contact to the chairperson of each committee please refer to the contact numbers next to their names or alternatively contact the ATA on 1800 654 951 (free call) Australian Touch Association PO Box 9078 w Deakin, AC 2600 Email: billker@austouch.com.au Web site: http://www.austouch.com.aulast_img
